About Me!

Hi!! Anela here :) I figured it might be a good idea to tell you a bit about how this got started. Sooo....

I started reading as a way to escape the world around me. As a migrant from Jamaica, it took me a long time to feel like I truly fit in. And by “a long time,” I mean about 20 years, lol. Books quickly became my safe place…my best friend.

I still remember being in first grade and winning a trophy for reading 100 books. I was so proud. That trophy meant everything to me. Over the years, especially after moving from school to school and dealing with bullying, reading became more than just a hobby. It became my community.

Fast forward to my senior year of high school, I had the idea to start making bookmarks. I even bought resin and everything, but I didn’t believe in myself enough to actually start. I couldn’t see myself creating something people would want or use.

Years later, I got inspired again by a bookmark I received from Amazon. This time, I leaned in. I did the research, took the leap, and opened my Etsy shop during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

And now… here we are.

This is truly a labor of love, and it means so much to me to share it with you. I hope you enjoy and tell me about your favorite book one day :)
